Bodog.eu Changes Name

Online sports bettors might have a difficult time searching for their favorite sports betting site after the New Year. Why? Because one of the most popular sports betting sites, Bodog.eu, is being given a new name. As of January 1, 2012, Bodog.eu is changing its name to Bovada.

Morris Mohawk Gaming Group (MMGG), the sole licensee of the “Bodog” brand for online gaming services in the U.S., is responsible for the name change. Although the company has owned and operated Bodog.eu since late 2006, MMGG is rebranding the name of the site because its license with BodogBrand.com is expected to expire on December 31, 2011.

However, even with a new name, Bovada is expected to offer online sports bettors all of the same services and products they once accessed through Bodog.eu. The new site, run by former Bodog managers, is expected to feature the same software, customer service, account information, and poker network as the beloved Bodog.eu. When it comes to betting on sports, the new site accommodates betting on everything from NFL football to baseball and even UFC. And if you want to bet on horse races, the new site can accommodate you, too.

Bodog.eu was considered the world’s largest betting brand, providing online sports bettors with sports betting, including NHL hockey betting, NFL football betting, and NBA basketball betting. But that’s not all. The brand also provides online bettors with poker tournaments, and information on how to bet on poker. However, the Bodog brand has withdrawn from the U.S. market, leaving Bovada to take its place as the leading sports betting site for U.S. players.
